I bought this car with 63,000 miles on it in May of 2011 and I had never driven a manual car before then. This car is easy to leave how to drive manual, and is very fun to drive because it hugs corners. Although it does lack power, it is still a great car and if you can find one with low miles I would highly recommend buying one for yourself.

Manual Transmission, Low, European Styling, Hard to find in good condition.

More Power, Toque, Upgrade Motor if possible, upgrade clutch

I just purchased a '97 Golf GL (K2 Edition) and so far I love it. Great fun to drive, corners great, enough zip to get me moving. Fit & finish at 87,000 miles is still very good.

Love the heated seats, fog lights are SUPER bright.

Vacuum pump for central locks was fried when I bought the car. Rear wiper motor was also bad- had to disassemble gearbox to free it up.

Excellent Mechanically, have had one problem; a power steering hose.

Its a bleast to drive, considering the mileage and cost.

I have had this car since I bought it new and after 85000 miles my first repair was a $300 alternator. It is reliable and good car and I plan on having it until it melts around me.

Heated seats are awesome in Chicago winters. Amazing how much stuff you could haul when those seats are folded down.
